A few weeks ago, we gave you the scoop on who was the best MD in the state and how you could go about getting the best in-person doctor.
Now, we have an update on the next big name MD in Maryland and it’s an interesting one: Dr. Andrew Zobel.
Zobel, MD, a family physician who specializes in orthopedics, had a busy few weeks, as he spent the first week of February at the Baltimore Medical Center as part of the Baltimore Public Health team that investigated the rise in infections at the hospital and its surrounding area.
According to a press release, Zobels work included: “assessing the medical needs of residents at the BMO Harris Bradley Health System in the city and identifying the medical and surgical treatment options available to residents.”
Zobels most recent book, The Good Doctor, has already been a best seller.
It has received several awards including Best Book of the Year from the American Medical Association and has been named one of the top ten books of the year by Publishers Weekly.
In August, Zobs book was named one and a half stars on the best-seller list by the Boston Medical Book Review.
The Baltimore Sun reported Zobes recent book was published on March 6, 2017, and has just been updated to reflect the release of The Good Dr. Zobeling’s book.
In addition to his work with the BMA, Zofel is also an expert witness in several trials for the VA, including the VA Health Care Quality Improvement Program.
Zobes expertise in the VA’s Quality Improvement program was one of his main selling points when he left the hospital last year.
In August, he was a key witness in the first trial for the program, which is being run by the Department of Veterans Affairs in the hopes of saving lives.
